Numerical modelling of capillary driven flow using OpenFOAM

Internship Description

Work on running simulation of multi-phase capillary driven flow in channels of different geometries and wettability properties. Study numerically the effect of dynamic contact angle on capillary driven flow.

Deliverables/Expectations

Work on improving the accuracy/sharpness of the fluids interface using OpenFOAM multiphase flow solvers

Incorporate the dynamic contact angle into multiphase flow

Benchmark the numerical simulation against available analytical solutions and experimental data

Write complete report, provide documented code/input files to OpenFOAM, present results on group seminar.​​
